Buffalo Grove, Ill. (July 23, 2007) - IPA Charities, the charitable foundation of IPA, has recently donated $4,600 to Walt Whitman’s Soul Children of Chicago.
IPA Charities has fully sponsored two of the nine children selected to attend a trip to Israel for the Zimriya Music Festival atop Mount Scopus in Jerusalem to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ in song to the nations. The 21st Zimriya Music Festival will be held July 30-August 9.
"This is an awesome opportunity for Soul Children to make an impact on the nations," said Walt Whitman, president of Soul Children of Chicago. "This sends out a positive message that we can be significant, on a global level, as African American youth. We teach them to make a mark in life that cannot be erased--they have purpose and destiny and it’s up to them to walk in it. I’m very excited about the relationship that we’re developing with IPA. It’s my desire to see every child in Soul Children develop an entrepreneur spirit, become an asset to any corporate climate and be independently wealthy."
Soul Children of Chicago is a world class performance group with the purpose to utilize music as the motivator and catalyst to inspire young people throughout the world to have faith in themselves. To this day, The Soul Children of Chicago continue to serve the community as a non-denominational, non-profit educational organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of our youth. The Soul Children of Chicago look to educate the minds, elevate the spirits and illuminate the souls of our youth. Workshops, led by world renown conductors, take place mornings and afternoons. During the evenings, choir members participate in open singing and choir to choir sessions. A Gala Concert will take place at the end of the Zimriya as well as a guided tour of Jerusalem.
