Buffalo Grove, Ill. (May 19, 2008) - IPA Managing Director, John R. Burgess, has been invited to become a member of the Republican Presidential Roundtable.

Membership benefits include an invitation to attend dinner with President George W. Bush and tickets to attend the 2008 Republican National Convention, among others.

Republican Presidential Roundtable membership is by invite only and is strictly limited to carefully selected members nationwide. The distinguished group of members consists of various individuals such as business owners, physicians, lawyers and grassroots supporters across the county, and every effort is made to ensure representation from each of the 50 states.

"The Roundtable is among the most exclusive groups of its kind," said Senator Orrin Hatch, 2008 President’s Dinner Chairman. "Our members include community leaders, entrepreneurs, business executives and sports and entertainment celebrities. [...] As a distinguished member of the Presidential Roundtable, you will be entrusted with the latest information on pressing matters of national policy as well as campaign strategy for our Republican Senate candidates."

Faced with a newly elected Democrat-controlled Senate in early 1987, President Ronald Reagan founded the Republican Presidential Roundtable. He sough to not only restore a Republican Senate Majority, but to create a unique forum in American politics bringing together the most prominent business and civic leaders. President Reagan wanted to enlist greater involvement in the Republican party and country. Now, more than 20 years later, Ronald Reagan’s vision and the dedicated efforts of the Presidential Roundtable have produced Republican Senate majorities in four consecutive elections.
