The Council on Small Business is the primary policy-originating body for the U.S. Chamber in the area of small business issues. It serves the function of enabling the Chamber to more fully meet the needs of small business members and to help these small businesses take more effective action on legislative, regulatory and political issues.
The task force is the primary policy-originating body for the U.S. Chamber in the area of national security. The task force’s jurisdiction includes issues such as critical infrastructure and cyber security protection, transportation and supply chain security, emergency preparedness and response, export control modernization, implementation of the SAFETY Act and National Guard and Reserve policy.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing more than three million businesses of all sizes, sectors and regions. It includes hundreds of associations, thousands of local chambers and 106 American Chambers of Commerce in 94 countries.
The U.S. Chamber provides businesses with a voice of experience and influence in Washington, D.C., and throughout the globe. The organization’s core mission is to fight for business and free enterprise before Congress, the White House, regulatory agencies, the courts, the court of public opinion and governments around the world.
From its headquarters near the White House, the U.S. Chamber maintains a professional staff of more than 300 of the nation’s top policy experts, lobbyists, lawyers and communicators. The organization’s members include businesses of all sizes and sectors – from large Fortune 500 companies to home-based, one-person operations. In fact, 96 percent of the U.S. Chamber’s membership encompasses businesses with fewer than 100 employees.
