Buffalo Grove, Ill. (September 18, 2008) - IPA Managing Director, John R. Burgess, has been nominated to receive the American Spirit Medal.

The American Spirit Medal is the highest honor the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) can bestow upon an individual.

"This prestigious award is presented to those extraordinary individuals who have shown a lifelong commitment to preserving the conservative principles that are the foundation of the Republican Party and the lifeblood of our country," said Senator John Ensign, NRSC Chairman.

This high honor has been endowed upon the nation’s and the world’s greatest defenders of liberty, economic freedom and military strength including individuals such as former President Ronald Reagan, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and retired General Norman Schwarzkopf.

The NRSC, founded in 1916, provides invaluable support and assistance to current and prospective Republican U.S. Senate candidates in the areas of budget planning, election law compliance, fundraising, communications tools and messaging, research and strategy.

Burgess is the key founder and managing director of IPA. Prior to founding IPA, Burgess was a commodities trader with the Chicago Board of Trade, practiced law and was an executive with a management consulting firm.
